Petcube Bites 2 Review - Show Your Pet Love When You Are Away The Petcube Bites 2 home camera puts your pet first. App-controlled treats can be controlled by your pet to teach them to pose when you are looking at them. You can also share quality clips with them through a 1080p camera. It was a lot of fun to use for a month.

Pet owners who are willing to spend the extra money for Petcube Bites 2 will enjoy all of their favorite features. Two-way audio and a treat dispenser will ensure your pet feels the love no matter where you are. 1080p quality recording and automatic night vision mean you can catch your pets at their best, regardless of when they're in.

Pet owners who love their pets are often concerned for the welfare of their pet. However, once they're gone, there's not much that can be done. The Petcube Bites 2 offers a number of new features that will allow pet owners to monitor their pets even when they are away. This camera, which is Alexa enabled and has a larger field of view than the previous model, continues to be a top-rated pet camera. It has a 1080p sensor and interactivity that allows you to throw treats at the camera. I was sure I'd get some cute shots while testing it.

Petcube Bites 2's sleek, black-and-silver body is about as big as a shoebox. This design has one drawback. Once loaded with treats it can be quite top heavy with a very small footprint. It will be easily knocked over if it is within reach of your dog's tail. That expensive pet camera hitting the ground can cause you to have a heart attack. It was sandwiched between DVDs, which I did. But there are mounting points for the back of any pet cam that you might prefer.
It lifts easily off the points but fits snug enough to ensure that my pets were not able to reach the treats when it was on the ground. It's compact enough and strong enough to be used in any space. The color scheme also ensures it doesn't stand out.

It takes only a few moments to set up Bites 2. The app provides prompts for connecting to the Petcube app after you have created an account and set up profiles. This includes photos, breed and type, as well as information about your pets. App will communicate all information, including how to pair and connect to Wi-Fi.
The prompt appears when you touch the icon for the dog bone. It will tell you how many treats to throw at different distances.
To control the amount of treats that are being dispensed, the treat hopper comes with an insert in medium size. The Wellness Petite treats are provided and will fit the hopper perfectly. However, I recommend comparing your favorite treats with the insert to ensure that you can change the insert as necessary. You can use the inserts for anything up to 1 inch in diameter, and of similar size. However, treats with very different sizes may jam the machine.

The video quality on the Bites 2 isn't much better than the original model. However, the 1080p resolution makes it as good as any pet cam available. The video quality was excellent, with the exception of occasional graininess that is common in consumer security cameras. It was easy to use in brightly lit rooms or darker areas. The picture showed detail and clarity, making for cute photos when my pet started investigating the new treat-dispensing buddy.
The Bites 2 automatically switches to night vision when it is dark outside. High quality black-and white night vision is crystal clear. The images are a bit grainy, and some animals may have a strange glow in their eyes. But that is normal with night vision. The quality of the images was amazing, and I would definitely post them to my Instagram.
While there are some cheaper cameras that can be used to check in on pets, none offer pet-specific interaction. An 80-pound German Shepherd who barks at the windows makes it seem like most burglars will just move on to the next home. My dog is what I am most concerned about. Are you worried about him? Lonely? Oder, even if I forget to lock my trashcan, have he not thrown any garbage around the living area?
To get started, I set up Bites 2 and drove to the nearest Starbucks. After checking out the app several times, my dog finally did something that was interesting. He wasn't staring out of the window, waiting for me to return. He was just burying his nose in the garbage. He didn't hesitate to go to Starbucks, which is just a short distance away. He was unable to get in the bin until I touched the button that would start two-way audio. This irritated me. Surprised, he stopped, probably because the voice scared his.
The prompt appears when you touch the icon for the dog bone. It will tell you how many treats to throw at different distances.
Later, my husband described the sound quality as "a little bit tinny", which is probably due to slight latency. The music isn’t very tinny, and the Bites 2 could be your primary Alexa device, just as mine is. It's also convenient to use the Petcube-specific Alexa commands such as "treat my dog", which are very useful. Instead of waiting for video feet to load I can give my pet treats and get on with my work.
My dog was so good about keeping out of the garbage after my yells, I decided it was the right moment to try the treat dispenser. The prompt appears when you touch the icon for dog bones. It will tell you how many treats to give at different distances. Although I tried the shorter throws, my dog preferred the longer distance.
The treat will take a few seconds to disperse, but it works reliably as long you don't stuff the machine with too many small treats. The chime signals that it is time to give your pet a snack. They'll soon come running when you glance in their direction after a while.
The Petcube app is like most other apps. It offers a lot of functionality for free and some nice premium features. All basic features, such as recording videos manually and taking photos, are available at no extra cost. Subscriptions start at $3.99 per month and include perks such as receiving notifications when the camera senses your pet or person, which can be useful for checking in on dog walkers or pet sitters in case you have any questions.
He was unable to get in the bin so I hit the button for two-way audio. Surprised, he stopped, probably because the voice scared his.
A subscription allows the Bites 2 to automatically record when one of your pet's pets is detected. You can also save more clips. This is a great option, with many useful features that make it worth the cost. I would not feel guilty about paying for the subscription if the Bites 2 didn't start recording when I detected my pet.
The $250 price tag is unavoidable. The Bites 2 is something I love, but it's a bit expensive. All pet cameras are expensive. If you don't mind spending more for a Wi Fi-connected camera to monitor your pets, the Bites 2 can be great fun.
Petcube Bites 2 offers great features both for users and pets, but this is our top pick. PetChatz (view Amazon) has an excellent field of vision, 1080p recording quality and a large field-of-view to capture your pet's best moments as soon as you bring it into the room. You can be with your pet while you are away by using PawCall and two-way video chat. Your pets can enjoy a relaxing spa experience by using aromatherapy or a treat dispenser. PetChatz is a pet cam that offers more features than other ones, but it comes with a cost.
The cost of the camera is around $350, unless you are lucky enough to get a deal. Any treats not made by PetChatz will invalidate your warranty. You'll need to spend more to ensure that the device works at its peak. PetChatz is the perfect choice for you and your pet. Petcube Bites 2 is an option for those who don't want to let their dog call them on-demand. It prioritizes important functions and comes at a reasonable price.
It was a costly pet, but the features and quality were worth it.
Although the Petcube Bites 2 pet camera is expensive, it offers high quality features. You can use your favorite treats and the treat dispenser works reliably with many pet treats. The device is compatible with Alexa, making it easier to use around the home. Additionally, the high quality recording will ensure that every pet clip you share is worthwhile.
