The Furbo was designed specifically for dogs, as the name suggests. It is easy to see why, with its blue light which turns on when it's in use and the bamboo cover that prevents pups getting excited from knocking it off the floor.
There are no restrictions when it comes to where you place the Furbo Dog Camera. The Furbo Camera should be placed 12-20 inches above ground, depending on your dog's height. Higher may work for chewers, but the Furbo Dog Camera is durable enough to last. This height is ideal for monitoring your pup during the day—or taking dog selfies when they look at it, which is pretty goofy and fun.
We also had to consider our flooring. The Furbo sometimes tossed out treats that were too long to fit in the carpet of our living room. We were able to teach our dog to sniff and play a little bit of searching for them. However, it is something you should keep in mind if your carpet has a carpet.
The Furbo can be used to secure your pet's fur on any surface, even if they are more active than usual. It also has a tripod mounting socket that allows pet owners to mount it between the two-sided tape strips.

Furbo claims a quick 3-minute setup and the results are impressive. Our Furbo was first powered on using its supplied power cord. It then turned itself on quickly, and the front-facing light lit up green. This indicated that it was ready for the next stage of setup. We downloaded Furbo from the Google Play Store to our Samsung Galaxy S8. iOS devices also work with the app. After signing in, the app found the Furbo using the Bluetooth on our Samsung Galaxy S8 and then paired the camera with the pet cam. It was very easy to set up.

Furbo's treat-tossing function is one of the reasons it stands out from other apps. Some pet cameras don't allow remote distribution of treats. The few that offer this feature don't allow users to throw treats at eager dogs. Furbo's rival, Pawbo Pet Camera relies on gravity to distribute treats to dogs hungry.
Furbo will play a short sound clip to help you give your dog a treat. Users can also record their greeting and alert the Furbo that they are on. Then, within the app you can drag and drop the treat icon toward a location in the camera's field of view and voila—the treat is flung from the Furbo to the location indicated.
The Furbo app includes a treat-tossing function that makes it stand out from the rest.
It can take some time to get used to this for your pet. Furbo has a training video that can help dogs learn to respond to the chime. This training video was fun and helpful. It helped us to quickly introduce our furbaby to the Furbo. It was also impressive that the toss was able to land at least several hundred feet.
The device's strong point is its AI-powered smart notification system. Furbo can send out real-time notifications using barking or movement, even people. The app's future updates will include dog and home emergency notifications. These notifications can be paired with 10 second video clips that are stored for 24 hours. We found it useful to turn down the barking notification sensitivity so that we didn't get repeated messages. These notifications are very useful for monitoring our dog's behavior and identifying what is causing it to act out.
Furbo can send out real-time notifications by barking or moving (including humans).
The only problem with smart mobile notifications for smartphones is their limited availability to users during a trial period of 90 days. Dog Nanny, which provides highlights of the day for the dog and takes selfies whenever the dog is looking at the camera, can also be tied to the trial window. The subscription does not include the barking, barking, or treat-tossing features, nor live view. If you want to keep your pet connected after the trial ends, consider paying $6.99 per month or $69 annually. This functionality may not be necessary for casual users who only check in on occasion.
Another highlight is the two-way communication feature. It's great to check out the activities of one's pets, but it's even more enjoyable to chat with them and have an interaction with them when they're away. Two-way communication allows you to do just this. Although the audio quality is excellent, it does feel a little weak in comparison to other devices like the Petcube Play which has a clearer, more consistent audio connection.
You can livestream or record videos in 360p and 720p. The quality is excellent and users have the ability to adjust it according to their internet connection. You can see clearly in low or high-light situations. Not all pets cameras support this. The video is clear and blur-free, which makes it easy to view what your pet's doing at any moment. Another perk is that the Furbo is capable of supporting two people logged in and viewing the livestream at the same time—something that not all pet cameras can do. This is a great advantage for pet owners who want to live stream video to their family and friends.
The Furbo pet camera has a MSRP of $249. This is quite high considering that most pet cameras cost between $100 and $400 depending on their features. The Furbo Dog Camera has a durable frame, a bamboo spill-resistant lid and an attractive hourglass shape. The Furbo Dog Camera looks great anywhere and adds a little class to your home. The 1080p camera and infrared nightvision are just a few of its highlights. Its functionality will not disappoint.
Petcube Play, Pawbo Life Pet Camera are the main competitors for the Furbo Dog Camera. These devices each have their own unique features and require extra consideration.
The Petcube Play (MSRP $179), unlike the Furbo, is small—fitting into the palm of your hand. It blends in with your home thanks to its compact metal design and sleek appearance. The Furbo stands out because it is larger and more bulky. Petcube has a laser pointer with manual and automatic controls that is missing from the Furbo.
It doesn't have remote delivery, however, the Petcube Play 2 ($199 MSRP) has it. Laser pointers may not be for all dogs. However, it is important to consider the unique interests and needs of your dog. Is it more fun for your pet to have fun with you than to give it treats? Both have real-time notifications.
Furbo is also competing with the Pawbo Life Pet Camera, MSRP $199. The Pawbo is not as solitary as Furbo. Although it can deliver treats remotely, the Pawbo relies on gravity instead of being a force to be used. Pawbo Life includes both manual and automatic controls for a laser pointer and two-way communication.
These features also suffer because it offers additional features for a similar price. The video quality is only 720p, and two-way communication is a bit shaky. The real-time notifications and night vision modes are missing, as well as cloud-based recording. It may not be the best option for users looking to send treats remotely to their pets or check in on them occasionally.
It's expensive, but it is fun and loaded with great features.
The Furbo Dog Camera is a fun, unique way to remotely deliver treats to dogs. This camera is also great for monitoring pets' secret lives while you are away. Although it is slightly more costly than other options, it still has many unique features that make it stand out from its peers.
